Rain On …
The weather is still changeable and a few bees still about. This one came out a bit different with Blue Salvia and reflective in the BG.
These bees just keep going no matter what, as long as the conditions are conducive … and it all changes in the blink of a storm.

Is this photo unedited colour wise? It’s almost hard to believe, it’s so stunningly beautiful. I’ve been looking through your blog a bit, and I have to say, it’s probably the most facinating photo blog I’ve seen. Really putting the spotlight on these usually neglected and misunderstood little guys. Keep it up!
No, no photo is ever unedited but editing is minimal – about 20 sec in Picasa for optimising saturation/colour, contrast and brightness and 10 sec in NI for noise and sharpening. I only work with what is already there, no photoshopping involved. These ‘little guys’ are what keep the earth turning. Will do, thanks. M

Poor thing, she looks rather bedraggled.
I love this kind of bees. Great picture.
Hi Mark, you haven’t popped up in my Reader for awhile so glad to see you and your little bee friend here today…shanti….kai
Fantastic photo. Macro insect photos never cease to boggle the mind.
Such a pretty background!
your photos of these little creatures are brilliant…it is wonderful to see the detail!
Thanks Heather. Yes, it is …
Exquisite!!
Beautiful Mark. How do you find these little lovlies.
Thanks Grete. It’s a matter of experience and knowing their behaviour from observation and interaction. Then, with some care, it’s relatively easy to get these shots.
