No matter how dark the clouds or hard it rains the sun always comes out, in time …

This little bee made it to the next act in the play of its life, to fly and eat and do what bees do untroubled in my garden.

      Maybe; I saw one dusty old print that must have been doing the rounds for a couple years win a competition – it wasn’t nearly the best there. The ways of the world …

    wow! Are you using the tequnique “stacking” Or is your lense that good. I´m amazed! I managed the take a picture of bumble bees that was surprised by the rain, but the quality is´t even close to the stuff you make. I need to practise more!

      Hello Lena. No, I have no need to stack, wouldn’t spend my time at it anyway – dry intellectual exercise. The sensor is small and therefore supposedly has deeper DOF than larger sensors but it matters that the architecture/angles of the creature in the field or plane of acceptable focus is taken into account when shooting. I also use flash 99% of the time, properly done this is the effective shutter speed and gives me very sharp images. And when background is taken into consideration it all comes together.     I love your bee pictures. I had never seen sleeping bee pictures before I saw your pictures. Now I have seen the bees sleeping in my garden. Today I have one sleeping in a Hibiscus flower that has been there since last night.

      Thanks Tonya. That’s a blue salvia. Native bees here have an attraction to blue for some reason …
