A Sleepy Dragon
It’s all … a gift, or a curse, depends on how you look at it. But the fact is whatever it is today is gone tomorrow, so there’s no point fretting it – whatever ‘it’ is. Making it less a curse, or a gift, and more simply what it is.
*
I know, easy to say. But it can also be ‘done’ if done enough. Letting go is the key, not holding on to what’s inside – though it may appear outside – by thinking too much or getting emotional about ‘it’. Whatever it is.

This sleepy dragon doesn’t give a … Lying there, resting in the hot afternoon sun, takes no notice of me – as long as I am careful, considerate of its sensibilities, discernible as what my own would be if …

… I were a dragon.

I love them eyes! Dragons are gorgeous
Dragon eyes, a particular wonder in a world of it …
I love all the colour and little hairs on the last photos.
Yes, a colourful creature Lyle … and hairy. :-)
Always a special page to visit with images you present from the wee ones world; in the last image the dragonfly looks like it is smiling, a quiet smile.
Ha, everything smiles – when I look to see.
Beautiful dragon pictures Mark
Thanks Godfried …
Love it ^_^
Thanks Kaitlyn …
INcredible! Look at those eyes! the little hairs on it’s face and legs! the colour! Those little ineffectual looking antennae on it’s face which probably serve some great purpose (nature doesn’t do things without a good reason…well, most of the time – she does need to try out new designs every now and then). Wonderful Mark. Thank you :)
Lissa
Thanks Lissa. Yes, it really is amazing what nature we have … are.
Amazing image and beautiful thoughts.
Thanks Jacks …
fantastic colors! I don’t usually see dragonflies that pretty! may I ask what lens??
Indeed Laura, wonderful colours. Nothing special, a Pany FZ50 and achromats with snooted and diffused flash – pix of it (them, I have a few + the G1) somewhere on this long page : https://beingmark.com/macro-illustrated/
The link = wow. Macro photography is what got me into it all and those are pictures I’d love to be able to produce!
Like anything Laura, it takes time and practise to get rid of what doesn’t work.
Well said.
And, photographed…
Thanks Terra …
wow, I never see such a beautiful photos of dragonfly. Bravo!
Thanks Kristin. It’s an unusual view that more are finding the pleasure in …
Lovely visiting the micro world you reveal with such sensitivity and love. Perhaps dragon realizes the summer is nearly past, and is contemplating what changes he feels each day. Reading a book you may enjoy, recommended to me by a Sufi friend. It is called, “The Forty Rules of Love” and touches lightly on the relationship between Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. I’m reading it very slowly, savoring and trying to absorb on as many levels as one may. Best wishes, Mark. Thank you for posting WG
Thanks Elizabeth. I think the dragon is being dragon at rest, no more or less. I doubt I could read much of a book with 40 rules in it … :-) Rules are the death of me.
;-)
Really great!
