Hanging Out The Wash …

A colourful beetle taking a break on my tee shirt drying on the line. … Click on the pix, and click again, to see the bigger version.

Vary the shooting angles, you never know what you’ve got til it’s on the big screen.

Get in close …

A big stick insect, I think. About 5 inches long head to tail, Found him in the bushes while doing the gardening. Colourful fellow.

Storm Lillies. Been flowering since the rains began a few weeks ago.

One of my garden buddies, Kookaburra. Keeps an eye out for anything to eat.

Bad hair day. Windy on the washing line.

Watch out below … that’s a serious beak.

Everything plays in the garden.
They are born and die, everything in between
And life goes on …

Do you know what those structures at the ends of the beetle’s antennae are called and/or their function?

I also can’t quite figure out the stick insect. Is that whole top structure th head? with a huge eye?

Always fascinating to see your insect photos.

I think the photo of the Stick Insect looks like a hand gently holding some big eyed treasure.

It is a hand, isn’t it. To feed the mouth. And with all that colour, and the fact it’s alive, it is a treasure.
