Magical Bee
An hour or so before sunset I was in the garden looking for anything settling down for the night. It was early yet but if you don’t check you don’t know. I wasn’t looking for anything this small and when I saw it at first I thought it was a mite or some such since I saw it from face on and there was just an indistinct head and two tiny antennae waving slowly, drab and uninteresting to the unaided eye. It was roosting unusually early on a dried stem at the edge of the jungle of grass and plants the side of the garden is.
It’s a solitary bee, meaning it’s not unusual for them to be roosting alone. The amazing fact is it is only 3mm long, tooth to tail.
What a beauty. What a wonder. What a life.

Beauty Queen
She laid her eggs in a mud nest she built in the wooden ceiling. Stocked it with a paralysed spider and sealed it up. In some time a young wasp will come out of the mud tomb to do what mum has done. Repeat herself.
Everything repeats, so far. It’s the essence of existence, to repeat what has been.

A Little Colour
The Bee sleeps and the Aphid may be wary, instinctively so. How else could it be since they are not burdened with thinking or emotion. Wary is not emotion, it is an instinctive response of the body to the sense of danger the presence of an appropriate sized creature represents. Appropriately sized for eating Aphids.
Bees don’t eat Aphids but Aphids don’t know it.

Shiny green Katydid on the planet Frangipani with pink moon rising behind. Well, it could be a planet to an insect – the Frangipani tree. Didn’t stay still for long but long enough. Always enough even when the result is in the negative – no shot. What isn’t is imagination.

Grasshopper eyeing up the Marigold. They eat the flowers with a hearty appetite, must be the delicate beauty they are imbibing.
All in the sense of it and not a thought in the way? The long form of death.

Wasp – Spider Hunter
This is the same kind of wasp I watched fight two ants for its life two years ago. Here it came into the house and was supping water from the draining board. I brought it outside and put it on some plants and it posed for me for a few seconds before taking off into the night, though not far I’m sure.

Nomad
This is an Aussie Bee that has no home but the one it makes, usually sleeping alone on a branch or stem of some suitable plant at night. And it’s not always safe as houses, see the Lynx spider at the other end?
That’s the way of things here, no such thing as safe. Though there may be a state of mind that doesn’t matter, doesn’t make circumstances outside the harmony of creation, called being.
Such would need to be demonstrated.

Assassin at Work
I spy an Assassin.

Wandering about in the forest.

Tracked ‘im up the grass plant to panic in the hive.

Stabbed a wasp and carried her away.

And away.

And just when Assassin thought it was safe to stop the ants joined in the kill.

So off Assassin went again and didn’t stop till ants were way behind and wasp was drained of life.

This way and that, a little lost at times it seemed.

But never let go the precious hard won meal.

Skewered Wasp.

And the Assassin lived happily ever after. Until …
But that’s another story.

The Perfect Picture …
… of sense, what else … is the one the mind doesn’t move on, obviously – no thought, no fault. Thinking is the only imperfection on sense. You can’t think about that.
Here’s one to practise on. No thinking now, though I don’t fancy your chances. :)

After the Rain …
… a little colour. The long awaited rain finally arrived to wash the place free of dust and waken the slumbering things.
Who knows what it may bring, life to the seed that was planted.
And what was that? In the soil so dark and deep.
We’ll see. What may be.
