Thinking or emotion is like a screen over the view and colours/alters it accordingly. Check it, next time you enjoy something about an insect (and you have to get close) you won’t be thinking or emotional. That will come in after.
I don’t really know how spiders see us… but the turning fear point for me was when I observed how they can go into defence mode when you come near them… It made me realize the spider is probably as much afraid of that big thing (me) coming towards him/her.- as I was of him/her… I’m not so far as to let a black widow crawl over my hand yet… but then, we don’t have those here… ;-)
I get what you’re saying. :) I was, in a way, taught as a child to be scared of spiders and other insects that could be poisonous or cause allergies/rashes or even disease. Mum was scared I’d get bitten becuase I loved playing outdoors and was a curious child. :P
I have been bitten a few times out here in my little jungle – as that jungle is still European, it was just a nice, itchy bump – nothing more… it depends where you live, I guess… I probably would not be so relaxed if I lived in Africa or Australia 😊
Excellent !!!
Thanks …
I love this post
We do what we can …
Thanks for comments all, appreciated.
Awesome picture, Mark :-)
Thanks Gerhard.
Wonderful picture of this amazing spider! I love seeing into the eyes of these tiny livingforms.
Thanks Almuth. Yes, there’s life in there – here.
These details are fascinating – you never think of them when you see insects and other small creatures. Great picture!
Thanks BCM. Isn’t it amazing, however small you go there are the intricate details of living form.
Lovely spider.
Isn’t it … and so innocent looking.
Yes, but I think he or she is that.

Indeed she is that.
Although I’m a bit scared of spiders and other creepy, crawly insects and lizards, I can’t help admiring your photographs.
It is an amazing nature when you get past the ‘thinking’ in the way.
I guess so.

I’ll try! The thought scares me, which proves your point.
No need to try, just if it occurs you’ll notice.

Exactly! I was living in India and I guess my mother thought it safer for me to be scared than get stung by a scorpion or other venomous creature!
Well, there are more dangerous ones where you lived, I’m sure… Those would have lost their way in a terrible way to end up in Europe… ;-)
