Young Bee On Yellow

*Click on pictures for the bigger version …

Late one hot sunny afternoon I was watering the garden and noticed it stopped on the flower for a while as the wind died down.

It seemed comfortable enough and didn’t object to a spray of misted water from the hose, which quickly dried off.

I left it there to forage into the twilight and by morning it was gone, likely into the space-ways at first light.

I haven’t previously seen such exquisite detail in these little bees.
    Just wonderful, thank you

Thanks Roz. You need to get close for the detail.

Lovely bee, I think your yellow flowers might be missing some pieces of their petals now but I’m sure you do not mind. Amelia

It’s a gift when a little thing like this bee stops for a while. S/he can eat all the flowers it wants.

      Thanks Amelia.

Beautiful contrast with the yellow flower. I haven’t seen a black and white bee before, do you know what type it is? Nice that it let you spray it, very accommodating! 🙂

Thanks Graham. Not really, probably of the family Megachille, maybe a leaf-cutter. I think it was exhausted at end of a hot day.

A feeling I think we can all empathise with. ☺️
